Recap

Third time is a charm for Team Acme

Oakland, CA -- After suffering two regular season defeats, Team Acme took the second round consolation game from a struggling Puck'n A squad. The game was also (possibly) the final game for Ron "Caveman" Steele, the teams goalie for the past 6 seasons.

The Puck'n A took an early lead off a goal from Troy Gehring, but a pair of goals late in the period for Team Acme gave them the lead they wouldn't relinquish. Chris McGrew scored in the second, but not before Team Acme had increased their lead to two goals.

The third period was made up of Puck'n A goals to close the gap to one shortly followed up by Team Acme scores to regain that two goal lead. Scott Gehring brought it back to a single goal lead, but an untimely roughing call on Tom Bondur left the Puck'n A down a man with less than a minute to play.

This season marked the Puck'n A's third appearance in the DIHA playoffs and was unfortunately their worst showing ever. The team plans to regroup for next season and make a more exciting run for the championship.
