Bob Cushman opened the scoring at 12:32 of the first period knocking in his 8th goal of the season on a perfect pass from Juan Castillo. The Lightning tied the score six minutes later, but it didn't take long for the Puck'n A to grab the lead back. Mark Vis scored his 3rd of the season and it was all Puck'n A after that.
The second period was rather quiet as Tom Bondur scored one of his pair for the evening giving the Puck'n A a 5-1 lead heading into the final period. The Lightning just didn't have the bench to keep up. They played with only five players and were clearly wearing down.
Chuck Gehring scored his 7th of the season -- to lead defenseman -- only a minute and a half into the third period. Mitch Wright netted his pair in the third, his final being on the power play with a little over four minutes remaining.
