Recap

We should start calling him butter, because Bob Cushman was clearly on a roll. Cushman led the Puck'n A to victory with 5 consecutive goals in a 20 minute span. Coming back from a rib injury and hectic work schedule, Bob Hunter fed Cushman the puck for 3 of those and managed to net a shorty late in the 3rd period.

Mitch Wright opened the scoring with a fluke goal from the center line. He passed the puck up trying to hit a breaking Scott Gehring, but the puck just kept going and went right through the goalies pads. Two and a half minutes later Bob Cushman notched his first of his team record five goals.

Cushman's second came when the Puck'n A was left short handed after Juan Castillo was called for a tripping penalty right in from the of the score keepers table. This tally also closed out the scoring for the first period yielding a 3-1 Puck'n A lead.

The Rangers came back, nailing two goals in little over a minute before Cushman again put the puck past the Rangers netminder. He then added his fourth of the night giving the home team another two goal lead, this time heading into the third.

The third period started a bit late as the Puck'n A goalie -- Ron "Caveman" Steele was clearly exhausted from the heat. True to form Bob Cushman put in his fifth of the evening at the 11:56 mark after taking an excellent pass from Scott Cushman. The lead was extended to four goals when Bob Hunter finally got something other than an assist to Cushman -- Hunter scored his first of the season short handed at 5:40.

The Rangers made a valiant comeback attempt by scoring 2 goals some 90 seconds apart to reduce the lead to two goals. Caveman and a stingy defense took over from there forcing the final score to be 7-5 and improving the team record to 4-3-0.

Next up -- Penguins I. The Puck'n A will try to finally get a 3 game winning streak in the books and make that final surge for one of the playoff spots in the B Division.
