Recap

The fast skating Dragons upset the 2-0 Puck'n A in a hard fought battle Thursday night at Dry Ice Hockey Arena. Chris McGrew opened the scoring at 7:25 of the first period netting his second goal of the season and giving the Puck'n A an early lead.

The Dragons stormed back by scoring one at the end of the first and another midway through the second to take over the lead. Mitch Wright tied it up at 4:30 of the second by skating in from the left wing and putting the puck up in the far side corner. Again, the Dragons regained the lead, this time on a disputed goal at 3:35 of the second. The puck hit the cross bar and appeared to bounce outside of the goal line. The referee claims it hit inside the goal line and the Dragons took the 3-2 lead going into the final period.

Early in the third, the Dragons got the infamous two goal lead by scoring at 13:13. Just three minutes later, Scott Gehring started the comeback. Scott took a feed from Al Lessa at 9:58 to cut the lead to one, and less than two minutes later took a pass from his father Chuck Gehring to tie the game up.

Not to be outdone, the Dragons mounted their attack, and one minute later snapped a shot from the left point past the Puck'n A netminder for the 5-4 lead, and one minute after that managed to poke a loose puck into the net to close out the scoring.

The Puck'n A fall to 2-1-0 and face their arch-nemesis Puckzilla next week (4/24) at 2300 hours. The Puck'n A knocked Puckzilla out of the playoffs last season and went on to the championship game in their place.
