Penguins II suffer a Puck'n knockout

Oakland, CA -- Sometimes you win the game, sometimes you win the fight, and sometimes you win both. The Puck'n A scored 6 goals before the game was called after a "penalty box clearing brawl" at 12:39 of the 3rd period.

Mark Vis scored just 26-seconds into the game giving the Puck'n A the eventual game winning goal. The only other tally of the period belonged to Scott Gehring and was assisted by Jeff Robison and Chris "Sure I'll take another 5" McGrew.

The pace quicked in the second period. Jeff Robison scored his first goal of the season at 9:25. Four minutes later Chuck Gehring got what was later called a "Senior Citizen's Discount" goal. Chuck threw the puck at the net from deep on the left point. The puck went through a little bit of traffic, bounced off the goalie's skate, then a post, and finally trickled in for the score. Less than a minute later, Robison scored his second goal and third point of the night. Next was the ole Gehring-cubed. Troy Gehring scored a power play goal with the assists going to his father Chuck, and younger brother Scott. It was "Gehring, from Gehring and Gehring". Try saying that 3-times quickly.

The 3rd "Round" started with an early penalty to Chris McGrew for tripping at 14:27. Before the Puck'n A could get back to even strength, the fight started (12:39). Troy Gehring and #8 of the Penguins II were fighting for a loose puck on the near boards. Both players ended up hitting the floor in the scramble. A little pushing and shoving ensued. Penguins II #7 then jumped in and Scott Gehring lent a hand to his brother while Chuck was somewhat stuck in the middle trying to seperate players. A Penguins II player then sucker punched Scott which prompted Chris McGrew to go flying over the penalty box boards and join the fray.

When it was all said and done, the Puck'n A accumulated 12 minutes in penalties along with 2 ejections and 2 pending suspensions. The Penguins II managed 19 minutes, 3 ejections, and 3 pending suspensions. The referee then called the game... Puck'n A takes the win by knock-out.
