Recap

Sardo Won, Sorta Lost

Oakland, CA -- The Bladehogs (more commonly known as Oaktown) was led by Matt Sardo (#34) to victory in Saturday's championship game. The Bladehogs defeated Pro Team Sports to make it to the ball, while the Puck'n A mounted a miraculous comeback downing Blew By U for the honors.

"We won two periods of hockey,", said team captain Mitch Wright, "but that just isn't enough in this game. That five minute span in the second period cost us bigtime." The Puck'n A were ahead after one period 2-1 on goals by Tom Bondur and Jeff Robison, but between 11:17 and 7:50 of the second period Sardo and crew scored three unanswered goals to take the lead and the momentum.

The Puck'n A started their run in the third period when Eddie Bell scored at 13:20 to make the game 4-3. The alternator was cranking, but the engine just wouldn't turn over on this night. The game ended about as expected. Physical play picked up, words were exchanged, and the puck continued to bounce against the team.

There was no joy in Muddville tonight as the mighty Puck'n A struck out.
